lupe photo shoot

used to be that godiva (the magical smilin' sheep) was my loviest....but right now she is going through some kind of -don't touch me- phase so i've been working instead with lupe. Lupe has discovered that human hands have these long finger things that can get down into that thick wool and scratch her like she can only dream of.....

which is what i'm doing in this photo.....moments after this she began licking at the air and making little grunting sounds but i was laughing to hard to take a photo

once she's into scratch mode i can literally do anything i want to her and she sknows its worth it since i might choose to once again apply the fingers.

and if all else fails she can look for oats in my ear.

Is that top picture of the back of it's head?

I worked a sheep flock one summer when I was a teen. Not the kind of sheep you have though.

Two of us took care of a flock of sheep in the high country of Utah. It was a wonderful summer.

Oh, so sweet photos! That wool looks wonderful! When will you shear?

they'll be sheared come the first week of may....they'll look so different when they're naked! hopefully the nights won't be quite so cold then.

Awww...Lupe is warming up nicely from being a shy sheep.

Guess what! I'm prolly getting two shetland wethers in wool this Sunday! So excited! I finally get to play around with making my own millinery felt!

I am getting nervous at the size of the herd. 16 head goats plus 2 sheeplies. Grass needs to grow faster.

Oh what a great series of photographs!! You're sure to win Lupe over with the great scratching session.

I wonder if sheep get standoffish when they get into season? I only have experience with horses, and I know mares can get moody when in season. My gelding has lots of bite marks on his rump right now that can attest to this fact. Poor dude.

btw.. I was wondering if you weave belts? Or are they more trouble than they are worth?
