open air

i felt it the moment i reached you
felt the vulnerability breech the stone levee
that has separated us

as a matter of course
i wear my heart on my sleeve
vulnerability is my m.o.
i can wield it like a whip or sirens song
shove it deep into my pockets
twirl it in the open air
lay it boldly on the table

here
is
my heart

make
poems
and dinner
and a big somethin outta nothin’
make fire

do what you will.

my bent and rented heart
has reached yours.
